Golf Scoring

Scoring in golf stroke play is based on a rating against par. There are though a whole range of names given to individual scores.
A Triple Bogey – Three strokes over par
A Double Bogey – Two strokes over par
A Bogey – One stroke over par
A Birdie – One stroke under par
An Eagle – Two strokes under par
An Albatross – Three strokes under par
A Condor – Four strokes under par

A Condor is by far the rarest score and is only viable on a golf course that plays host to a Par 6 hole, a rarity on most professional courses. Bogeys, and indeed bogeys with a higher stroke rate over par are more common, and even professional golfers in major tournaments have scored quadruple bogeys or higher.
