Gary Player, along with the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, is often credited with turning golf into an international spectator sport. Still playing on the seniors’ tour, Player is considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time. The South African golfer, also known as the Black Knight, has won twenty four PGA Tour titles, as well as a further one hundred and twenty regular tour titles. Most impressively though is Player’s wins in the major, with a total of nine titles to his name in the 1960s and 1970s. Indeed Player is one of only five golfers to have won all four majors in their playing career.
